Ok, In this post I will give you a little explanation about Narrative Text.
I am sure you must be often to tell the story that you just hear, watch or even your own imaginative story to someone, good friends, relatives, parents, etc. Well, actually what we do when telling the story we experienced is an applicative example of the Narrative Text.
Ok, I will tell the definition of Narrative text. It is “An imaginative story to entertain the reader” For example, Cinderella, Snow White, Monkey and Crocodiles, Malin Kundang, The Legend of Tangkuban Prahu Montain, etc.
Then, Kinds of Narrative Text are Fable, Fairly Tales, Folktales, Legend, Mith. That’s a brief description of Narrative text from me.
But, In this time I will not give you a complete explanation about Narrative Text, Here I just want to share an example of Narrative text, because if we read many example of it, we will have a better understanding about it. We will also have some collection of story that we can tell to our students, friends, family, or our children.

Contoh Narrative Text – The Legend of Edelweiss Flower 1
Edelweiss
Long time ago, there was a handsome young man who wanted to climb the Alp Mountain. The mountain was so cold and covered with thick snow. People said that a beautiful fairy lived in that mountain.
The young man wanted to meet the fairy. He also wanted to see the beautiful palace made of ice. Many people tried to climb the mountain but all of them did not succeed. Some of them gave up before they met the fairy and some others could not stand the cold.
This young man was different. He could climb the mountain and did not give up. He climbed and climbed for the whole week. The weather as so cold, but he kept climbing to the fairy’s palace.
He finally met the beautiful fairy, and they fell in love with other immediately. But, the fairy was not happy.
“We can’t live together. My father would not allow me to marry a man,” said the fairy.
“Why not?” asked the young man.
“Because we live in two different worlds. I can’t stay in your world because it is too hot and you can’t stay in my palace because it is too cold. I’m afraid you will die,” explained the fairy.
Therefore, they had to separate. Since that day, the young man promised to himself that he would not marry anyone. The beautiful fairy was so sad that she cried every day. Every time her tears flowed down on the mountain, it became a beautiful white flower called edelweiss.

Dahulu kala, ada seorang pemuda tampan yang ingin mendaki Gunung Alpen. Gunung itu sangat dingin dan tertutup salju tebal. Orang-orang mengatakan bahwa ada peri cantik yang tinggal di gunung itu.
Pemuda itu ingin bertemu dengan peri itu. Dia juga ingin melihat istana indah yang terbuat dari es. Banyak orang mencoba mendaki gunung tetapi semuanya tidak berhasil. Beberapa dari mereka menyerah sebelum bertemu dengan peri dan beberapa lainnya tidak tahan dingin.
Pemuda ini berbeda. Dia bisa mendaki gunung dan tidak menyerah. Dia memanjat dan memanjat selama seminggu penuh. Cuacanya sangat dingin, tetapi dia terus mendaki ke istana peri.
Akhirnya dia bertemu dengan peri cantik itu, dan mereka langsung jatuh cinta. Namun, peri itu tidak bahagia.
“Kita tidak bisa hidup bersama. Ayahku tidak mengizinkanku menikah dengan seorang pria,” kata peri itu.
“Kenapa tidak?” tanya pemuda itu.
“Karena kita hidup di dua dunia yang berbeda. Aku tidak bisa tinggal di duniamu karena terlalu panas dan kau tidak bisa tinggal di istanaku karena terlalu dingin. Aku takut kau akan mati,” jelas sang peri.
Oleh karena itu, mereka harus berpisah. Sejak hari itu, pemuda itu berjanji pada dirinya sendiri bahwa ia tidak akan menikahi siapa pun. Peri cantik itu sangat sedih sehingga ia menangis setiap hari. Setiap kali air matanya mengalir di gunung, ia berubah menjadi bunga putih yang indah yang disebut edelweiss.
