Ok, In this post I will give you a little explanation about Narrative Text.
I am sure you must be often to tell the story that you just hear, watch or even your own imaginative story to someone, good friends, relatives, parents, etc. Well, actually what we do when telling the story we experienced is an applicative example of the Narrative Text.
Ok, I will tell the definition of Narrative text. It is “An imaginative story to entertain the reader” For example, Cinderella, Snow White, Monkey and Crocodiles, Malin Kundang, The Legend of Tangkuban Prahu Montain, etc.
Then, Kinds of Narrative Text are Fable, Fairly Tales, Folktales, Legend, Mith. That’s a brief description of Narrative text from me.
But, In this time I will not give you a complete explanation about Narrative Text, Here I just want to share an example of Narrative text, because if we read many example of it, we will have a better understanding about it. We will also have some collection of story that we can tell to our students, friends, family, or our children.

Narrative Text : Monyet yang Nakal
The Naughty Monkey
A chicken and chicks were eating. While they were enjoying the food, a monkey came. Monkeys are chicken friends.
“Hmm good, may I have some?” asked the monkey. He was very hungry.
The chicken was very sorry about the monkey. So, he gave some of his food to the monkey.
The monkey immediately ate the food. He was thinking about himself.
“Wow, this food is delicious, but I only get this one?”
The monkey then plans to steal all the chicken food. He had an idea.
“Hey, look at the sky, the eagle is coming, he wants to take your children,” shouted the monkey.
The hen was shocked! She immediately protected her children. While the hen was protecting the chicks, the monkey stole the food. After that the monkey ran away.
The hen realized that the monkey was just tricking her. He went to her other friend, the crab. The chicken told all the trouble to the crab.
“Don’t worry, my friend, I have an idea to give him a lesson.” said the crab.
The next day, the hen met the monkey. He said, “Let’s go to the island over there. There is so much food on the island.”
“But I can’t swim,” The monkey said.
“Don’t worry, I have a boat, you and I can use it to cross the sea,” said the hen.
Then, they were in the boat. The monkey did not know that the crab was hiding and making a hole in the boat. Slowly the boat was full of water and drowning. The crab swam and the hen flee. Soon they arrived in the land. They saw the monkey was very scared.
He shouted, “Help! Help! I can’t swim!”
The chicken shouted, “I will help you, but you must promise never do anything bad again.”
“All right, I promise, I will never do anything bad again,” said the monkey.
After that the hen and crabs helped the monkeys. ***
Terjemahan
Monyet yang Nakal
Seekor ayam dan anak-anaknya sedang makan. Sementara mereka menikmati makanannya, seekor monyet datang. Monyet adalah teman ayam.
“Hmm enak, bolehkah saya punya beberapa?” tanya monyet itu Dia sangat lapar.
Ayam itu sangat menyesal dengan monyet itu. Jadi, dia memberikan sebagian makanannya kepada monyet itu.
Monyet itu langsung memakan makanannya. Dia sedang memikirkan dirinya sendiri.
“Wow, makanan ini enak, sayang saya hanya bisa mendapatkannya?”
Monyet itu kemudian berencana untuk mencuri seluruh makanan ayam. Dia punya ide.
“Hei, lihat ke langit, elang akan datang, dia ingin membawa anak-anakmu,” teriak monyet itu.
Ayam betina itu kaget! Dia segera melindungi anak-anaknya. Sementara ayam betina melindungi anak-anaknya, monyet itu mencuri makanannya. Setelah itu monyet lari.
Ayam betina menyadari bahwa monyet itu hanya menipunya. Dia mendatangi temannya yang lain, kepitingnya. Ayam itu menceritakan semua masalah pada kepiting.
“Jangan khawatir, temanku, aku punya ide untuk memberinya pelajaran.” kata si kepiting.
Keesokan harinya, ayam betina itu bertemu dengan monyet itu. Dia berkata, “Ayo pergi ke pulau di sana. Ada begitu banyak makanan di pulau itu.”
“Tapi saya tidak bisa berenang,” kata monyet itu.
“Jangan khawatir, saya punya kapal, Anda dan saya bisa menggunakannya untuk menyeberang laut,” kata si ayam betina.
Nanti, mereka ada di kapal. Monyet itu tidak tahu bahwa kepiting itu bersembunyi dan membuat lubang di kapal. Perlahan perahu itu penuh air dan tenggelam. Kepiting berenang dan ayam betina terbang. Segera mereka tiba di tanah. Mereka melihat monyet itu sangat ketakutan.
Dia berteriak, “Tolong bantu aku tidak bisa berenang!”
Si ayam berteriak, “Saya akan membantumu, tapi berjanji tidak akan pernah melakukan hal buruk lagi.”
“Baiklah, saya janji, saya tidak akan pernah melakukan hal buruk lagi,” kata monyet itu.
Setelah itu ayam dan kepiting membantu monyet. ***
